Planning for Migrant Arrivals

With stories in the news about migrant and refugee arrivals in major cities across the country, King County and the City of Seattle, together with other partner agencies and humanitarian organizations, developed plans and playbooks for the sudden influx of migrants/refugees. There has been a “trickle crisis” of migrants/refugees in the area, taxing an already overloaded human services system, and emergency management agencies have been tasked to help find solutions for this growing situation, including the one at the Riverton Park United Methodist Church. The presentation will go over the preparedness efforts, discuss the plans/playbooks developed, and give an overview of the situation.
