About the Presenter
With nearly 30 years of media and communication experience, Megan Mulholland, APR, brings an unparalleled level of knowledge in both the public and private sector.Megan is certified by the State of Wisconsin and by the Federal Emergency Management Agency through the Center for Domestic Preparedness as a Public Information Officer.Because of her passion for the public sector, her experience as a PIO, and her love for training and teaching, Megan launched Compass Communications, a full-service crisis and communication firm focused on media training, crisis communications and social media. She has provided training for healthcare, EMS, fire, police, public health, airports, government, and private businesses.For nearly 17 years, she managed external communications for the healthcare system ThedaCare, including crisis communications, media relations, public relations, social media, internal communications and public affairs. She was the PIO during several crisis, including a mass shooting on a bridge, several multi-vehicle pile ups on the highway, tornados and a nationwide outage of transcription services, to cite only a few examples.For six years, Megan was director of marketing and communications for the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.She was communicator of the year for PRSA-NEW in 2015, the year she was the PIO during a mass shooting in the Fox Cities. Megan is also a former news reporter with experience in newspaper and radio.
